Allergy and Immunology
Why Choose Us for Your Child's Care
- The Division of Allergy and Immunology diagnoses and treats infants, children and adults for a wide range of allergic conditions and immune deficiencies-from the more common asthma, hay fever and food allergies to rarer and more difficult to diagnose diseases such as hereditary angioneurotic edema, a syndrome of swelling in the deep layers of the skin.
- At the Division's Food Allergy Center, our staff help to determine what foods a patient is allergic to by first performing skin tests or ImmunoCAP testing-actually giving the patient the food to provoke a possible reaction.
- Our physicians offer a full array of treatment options that may include the latest and most effective corticosteroids, an anti-inflammatory medication for patients with asthma; bronchodilators; and, in some cases, immunotherapy, or allergy shots, which can help the patient develop tolerance to the allergens.
