NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital was voted the best hospital in the greater New York area in New York Magazine's 2006 Best Hospitals survey. More than 30000 physicians from in and around New York were asked to rank area hospitals in each of ten areas of care. Over 1000 responding physicians voted NewYork-Presbyterian as the hospital that best fulfilled its mission. We were also voted number one in pediatrics, psychiatry, cancer care, obstetrics and gynecology, and neurology/neuroscience, and placed in the top three for the remaining specialties in the survey.
