Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Pediatric Dentistry
Research
Dental, oral and maxillofacial specialists are committed to improving the lives of young patients with skeletal and soft tissue facial deformities. At Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital they are currently researching the treatment of these deformities using distraction osteogenesis techniques, which enable surgeons to elongate a facial bone and the adjacent soft tissue.
Research is also underway to develop a program to provide comprehensive management and prevention of dental disease in children with physical and mental disabilities.
