Internships

Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of NewYork-Presbyterian offers Child Life internships for bachelor and master's degree students who are considering a career as a Child Life Specialist. Our 16-week (600 hours) full-time program is offered during the fall and spring semesters. Applications (far right column) are available for those students who meet the following requirements:

  • Affiliation with a college or university that has signed Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital agreement for student interns. The agreement (far right column) must be returned before an application can be reviewed.
  • Completion of application that includes a resume, two letters of recommendation, a list of goals for the internship, an essay, and an official transcript.
  • A minimum of 50 hours of volunteer experience with children in a healthcare setting.
  • Completion of a 100-hour practicum in a Child Life program.
  • Completion of courses in growth and development, child psychology, medical terminology, physiology and the hospitalized child.

Due to limited spots, submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance. Students should be available for an on-site or phone interview.
