Psychiatry (Child and Adolescent)

Warren Yiu Kee Ng, MD
Director, Clinical Services

NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital has one of the largest outpatient psychiatry programs in the region for children and adolescents. We offer high-quality, evidence-based, comprehensive mental health services for children and families. We provide specialized diagnostic, treatment, and crisis intervention services to thousands of families each year.

Mental health is very important to overall health. According to a National Research Council and Institute of Medicine report (2009), as many as one in five children living in the United States experiences a mental disorder in a given year. The good news is that there are effective treatments to help children and their families affected by mental health concerns. Early identification and treatment can make a significant impact on a young person’s life.

Many children and adolescents experience mental health problems that can interfere with their normal development and daily life activities, including their academic and social functioning. Some disorders are mild, and we can successfully treat them within a short period of time. Other conditions are more severe and require long-term intervention.

When you come to us for care, your child and family will benefit from the expertise of a compassionate and highly skilled team of mental health specialists who are committed to assessing and tailoring treatment to your child's individual needs. To schedule an appointment, please call us at (212) 305-0924.
