Welcome to Our Newest Faculty Members

Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital is pleased to welcome the following new faculty: Dr. Louis Baptista, Director of Clinical Services, Child Psychiatry; Dr. Erik Waldman, Clinical Director of Pediatric Cochlear Implants, Otolaryngology; Dr. Wyman Lai, Pediatric Cardiology; Dr. Maryam Banikazemi, Molecular Genetics Program; and Dr. Benjamin Roye, Pediatric Orthopaedics.
Dr. Louis Baptista came to Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital from Boston Children's Hospital, where he directed the Consultation Liaison service. Dr. Baptista graduated from medical school at Federal University of Santa Catarina in Brazil, and completed a General Psychiatry residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami School of Medicine, as well as a Child/Adolescent Psychiatry residency at Children’s Hospital Boston.
Dr. Erik Waldman joins the Otolaryngology Division (Ears, Nose and Throat). Dr. Waldman is coming to Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital from Boston Children’s Hospital where he completed his fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology. Dr. Waldman received his medical degree from the University of California Los Angeles School of Medicine, followed by a residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Waldman’s interests include pediatric cochlear implantation, pediatric otology, pediatric sinus disorders, and airway disorders in children.
Dr. Wyman Lai joins Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital from Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York. Dr. Lai earned his medical degree from Brown University School of Medicine and his residency at UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Lai is an expert in pediatric echocardiography and fetal diagnosis.
Dr. Maryam Banikazemi joins our Molecular Genetics Program. Dr. Banikazemi joins Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital from New York University Medical Center.
Dr. Benjamin Roye joins Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital from Mt. Sinai Medical Center, where he specialized in spinal conditions. Dr. Roye received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he also received his residency training. He earned his fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
